1. What Is a Subprocessor?
A subprocessor is a trusted third-party company that performs a specific service on behalf of REI Compass™ — for example, hosting our database, blocking bots on sign-in, or powering an AI feature you choose to use.
Subprocessors receive only the information necessary to perform their service. They act as service providers on our behalf, under contractual and technical safeguards, and are not free to use your information for their own purposes.

We choose subprocessors carefully and expect every provider to maintain appropriate security and privacy standards. This page tells you exactly who they are and why.
2. Current Subprocessors
The following third-party service providers currently support REI Compass™:

- AI-assisted productivity features

- Only information submitted by the user for AI processing
3. Payment Provider
When paid subscriptions are enabled, payment processing will be handled by Stripe — or another secure, PCI-compliant payment processor.
4. Future Providers
Subprocessors may change over time as services improve, as we add new capabilities, or as we replace a provider for reasons of quality, reliability, security, or cost.
This page will be updated whenever a significant subprocessor is added, replaced, or removed. The "Last Updated" date at the top of the page always reflects the most recent revision.
5. Security Expectations
REI Compass™ expects every subprocessor to:
- Protect customer information with reasonable technical and organizational measures
- Use encryption in transit — and, where appropriate, at rest
- Comply with applicable privacy laws in the jurisdictions where they operate
- Process information only for the authorized purposes described in this page and in our agreements with them
